Could anybody please tell me what preposition I should use in this sentence?
" Did he learn much (via/ through/ by) reading?"

It is commonly said "learning by doing", hence it should be "learning by reading" then. I think the other two alternatives are possible, too. I don �t think it is a MUST to have only one fixed answer in this situation.
