 Dear Colleges,
what would you say would be a correct use of the preposition on the phrases above? Or both possible?

							| That all depends on the context.
During the lesson the kids all fell asleep.
 Before the lesson
 After the lesson
In the middle of the lesson
 While having a lesson

							| Hi, Mariby. In my veeeeeeeeery personal and humble opinion, "at the lesson" sounds kind of funny to me.   The students were really interested in the lesson.   All the examples Liberty gave sound perfect, but I don t imagine a context with "at the lesson", since I have always associated AT with other contexts: at the store, at home, at the office, at the end of the road, etc.    Let s see what other opinions you get! We can always learn something new!   hugs!     | 27 Apr 2011

							| Depends on context. Liberty is right. You can use all those . Even at is possible: Take a look at the lesson and tell me what you think. If you are thinking about what actually happens while the class is having a lesson, then I think it would be best to use during or while".

							| Mariamit, thanks! the example you gave with "at" is perfect, I hadn t thought of it that way, but you re right! | 27 Apr 2011

							| You re very welcome Mar. The verb used plays a very important role. See: Take a look at the lesson and tell me what you think.
Pay attention to the lesson or you won t pass the test.
You shouldn t talk during the lesson.
Pay attention while/ when the teacher is speaking.

 I hope this helps.
