							| Dear Isabelucha,   "Riveting".   Oxford Dictionary of English: RIVET 1. (verb, with object) join or fasten (plates of metal) with rivets (which are short metal pins, beaten over when in place).   2. fix (someone or something) so as to make them incapable of movement: the grip on her arm was firm enough to rivet her to the spot.    attract and completely engross (someone) he was riveted by the newsreels shown on television.   (As adjective) RIVETING a riveting story    direct one s eyes (or attention) intently: all eyes were riveted on him.   So Isabel, you could say:   (American English) "The movie was riveting".  "The movie had me riveted".  "I was riveted by the movie".
(British English) "The film was riveting".  "The film had me riveted".  "I was riveted by the film". Les | 31 May 2011
