							| Hi guys! would you say : African-Americans couldn ´t use the same drinking fountains as the Whites( or Whites ´).

							| the Whites check here. IHO it ´s usually Blacks & Whites. I mean that seems logically/stylistically appropriate, right? Otherwise it should be African Americans & white people. What would American experts say? Sophia |  7 Jul 2011

							| Definitely no apostrophe, because you are essentially saying, "African-Americans couldn ´t use the same drinking fountains as the whites used". (No capital letter on "whites" either, since it ´s not a nationality).   Bruce |  7 Jul 2011
