							| A prefect is the British equivalent of a school hall monitor. Students who fill this role are expected to act with decorum and be conscientious of the school regulations. Prefects are intended to be akin to staff members in their enforcement of school rules. As a prefect, a student is expected to act with maturity and work to preserve the school building and ensure that pupils conduct themselves in an orderly and appropriate fashion.          A monitor                    a  child in school who has special jobs to do
I googled it and this is what I got. Hope it helps !!                        Huggggs
