							| Hi,
The two words : despondent and gloomy are introduced as synonyms. I know that both mean sad and without hope but I need to find the slight difference in meaning because the lesson is about how synonyms have differences in meaning. Any help?

 Thanks

							| "despondent" is used for people, and "gloomy"  for places or weather... it can be used for people but you ll more likely find it used like this, "he s feeling a bit gloomy". | 7 Oct 2011
