							| This expression is perfectly correct. It means "during the same period". In fact it is a synonym of "while". Let �s give an example :   Lucy was doing her homework, her kitten tore her new slippers in the meanwhile. When Lucy discovered her torn slippers she was furious. |  28 Oct 2011

							| Maybe it �s a regional thing, but here in Ohio, I have never heard "in the meanwhile". Yes, it �s correct, but I have never encountered "meanwhile" as a noun - just as an adverb. Here, we say "in the meantime" or just "meanwhile".   Bruce |  28 Oct 2011
