							| There are situations where we can use "rains", but it is generally uncountable, as in your example.  " ... rain, rivers and seas."   "The rains" can mean a rainy season.    Life there was very calm until the rains came. After that, it was a struggle to get through each day.   Bruce | 14 Nov 2011

							|  This is probably what yanogatar
means by rainy seasons where rain can be used as plural. Last summer, devastating floods caused
by heavy monsoon rains swept across Pakistan, disrupting the lives of
close to 20 million people. | 14 Nov 2011

							| Yes, I would agree with Bruce, "after the rains come" is a common quote, but the word "rains" can only really be used in this one sentence. If I had to tick a box, countable or uncountable, I would go with uncountable every time.
 Hope this helps you out,
