Dear Friends could anyone tell me the grammatical reason why in the following statement the answer is a) study?

Hi,I have
understood that when �do�
coordinates with another verb, we use that verb in infinitive, for that reason
we say �he does nothing but study�, we use study in infinitive. I hope this help you. |

Yes, that �s how it works.
Another way to word the sentence, still using "do" and "study" is
All he does is study.
As you can see, this still uses the rule/pattern sijuromo mentioned.

Otherwise it would have been "He is always studying" :
No "do" just as it should be : BE + V-ing
sorry, just a twisted way to confirm what sijuromo and yanogator said ... and get all doubts about �V-ing" out of the way ;o))
