My brother has gone  camping ....   THIS week.

If it is this week, this week hasn t finished yet, he went, somewhere  in the past, but the action is not finished yet. He went and... THIS week, he is still there. The action of having gone camping is not finished yet. He is still at the camping site.

 Just my opinion

 Regards

 Linda

							| my brother has gone camping this week( the period of time is not finished) now with indirect speech : "did you know..my brother had gone camping?"
the tense of the 2 verbs have to agree.

							| Thanks Marie threse
You are right and so is Apodo. I must stop writing in the forum at this time, when everything is blur.  I didn t notice the whole sentence, , didn t notice it was a question .----- I fully agreee, sorry for having brought some misunderstanding to your question, Izulia, my severe mistake. Didn t read it as I should have. They are both right and I agree with their answwers --Sorry and...thanks

							| Hi
"Did you know that my brother has gone camping this week?" - the word "this week" makes me use the present perfect tense, but Im not sure about the "did" part of the question and the past perfect.     Hugs from sunny Portugal Manuela | 31 Jan 2012
