It was quite strange, my partner, who is Chinese saw all the F�s

the first time so it�ll be interesting how other non English people see this one.

Three is apparently normal for the first read through for a native speaker/reader. It�s not so much because of Alzheimer�s related problems, it�s more because our brain & eyesight don"t work using individual letters, we tend to take a group at a time (like in the first brain drain). It�s like the brain edits out any anomalies unless we�re paying close attention to what we read/view. The same thing applies to the additional words.
Try the following (without concentrating on what you do) - read out loud the words in the image below.



How many �the�s did you say. It�s common for native speakers/readers to only say 1 �the�, not 2 because of this form of assumptive editing by the brain.
