							| Food or meal?
 |
							| Hi there!
I want to say that she is an excellent cook. So, should I say that

She cooks delicious food or She cooks delicious meals?

Are these two words correct in this context or one is better than the other?

 Thanks in advance!!

							| I think they re both OK, but food is slightly more usual, I would say. | 24 Mar 2012

							| I agree with cunliffe that "She cooks delicious food" sounds a little better. In another situation, you might say "She cooks delicious meals for her family" or "She cooks delicious meals for us", but as a general comment, "food" works better.   Bruce | 24 Mar 2012

							| saying "meals" tends to imply she is good at coming up with excellent combinations (entire meals) of food.  Using "food" comments more on her capabilities as a cook. | 26 Mar 2012
