							| Hi Paula!

In fact, there aren t any differences in meaning between both verbs. They mean the same.

 The only difference is this:

 - you marry someone (no preposition)

 BUT

 - you get married to someone

I hope I have helped you.

							| Yes, that s right. But just remember, when he proposes (or she does, as it s a leap year!) he says, Will you marry me? | 13 Apr 2012

							| Or you just "get married", which is more common than "get married to".   He married his long-time sweetheart last year. They got married last year.   The meaning is the same, but the usage is slightly different.   Bruce | 13 Apr 2012
