							| Can you pleasehelp me a little here:  What exactly does the second line mean in this:

I don t drink coffee I take tea my dear
I LIKE MY TOAST DONE ON THE SIDE

To go with my tea? Toast without anything on it?

I d really appreciate an answer from a native speaker, thanks in advance. I m making a song worksheet.

							| It should be "I like my toast done on one side" - it s a Sting lyric, and like a lot "poetry", doesn t really mean anything specifically, and isn t regularly used. It means the toast is toasted on one side only, and still regular bread on the other, but as far as I know, only Sting is a fan of this type of bread preparation... | 22 Apr 2012

							| Wow! I didnt expect that! Thank you so much! I thought it was something like "salad on the side" or something.
Thanks again, have a great time!
