As I explain to my Math students when I teach measurements, our government told us in the 70s that we �re changing to the metric system, and the population answered (nearly unanimously, I �m sorry to say), "No, we �re too stupid to learn that. Don �t make us do it!". So, we �re stuck with what used to be called The English System, but now is The American System.
