							| please i need full explanation for subject and verb inversion when using not only .. but also, and neither .. nor   Neither will the army retreat, nor will the terrorists surrender. Not only did he quit smoking, but he also started to exercise regularly. do we always use subject verb inversion in both parts of the sentence as in the first sentence, or we use it only in the first part as in sentence 2????? pleaaaaaaasssee help me     thanks in advance |  25 Apr 2012

							| If the speaker starts the sentence with the connector, in this case, Neither, you should use the verb inversion  in the first part of the sentence, e.g., Neither will the army retreat, nor the terrorists will surrender.
