Hi friends!Which one must be used ?I had fever or I had a temperature May be both possible I had learned temperature , I taught like that but I had come accross the usage with fever .I want to know the differences between them.Hopesomeone has time to answer me cause today is holiday and holidays are valuble .Hugs |

Maybe it �s a country thing, but "I had a fever" (with the article) is pretty common here in the US, but "I had a temperature" is probably more common among non-medical people.

Yes it �s BrEn vs AmEn: In BrEn Does he have a temperature? is common. In AmEn to take smb �s temperature, but in other cases the word fever is used. E. g. She �s running a high fever.
