							| Hello, I have a doubt. What´s correct? "The first day we went to...", or "on the first day, we went to..."?   I think both of them are correct, but I´m not sure.   Guadalupesm | 1 May 2012

							| both are fine. I think the second one is used more often for written English and the first one  sounds more like spoken English.

							| Naby, I don ´t agree. We wouldn ´t say "the first day" to mean "the first time", as far as when something occured. We would use it if we wanted to refer to the whole day, as in "The first day I lived in Cincinnati was filled with great experiences".   Bruce | 1 May 2012
