							| It �s a very formal plural of the word person. As Lynne has said mainly used by officials like police, etc. missing persons report comes to mind. Sophia

							| I would advise not using it as it is very formal. 
 You will only really hear / see persons in formal situations and signs.  
 Next time you �re in a lift / bus look at the sign for the maximum number of people. You will see it for sure ;) |  25 May 2012
