							| Dear Friends: Do we use "is" or "are" with majority. Sentence is below: " Some staff are paid to work in the shops, but the majority of people working in charity shops are volunteers.
 2": A growing number of people is singular or plural: Sentence is below: " A growing number of people use charity shops because they want to help the environment and prefer to buy used goods to new ones.
