On weekend I just relax because I �m very tired.
Am I right to think that it is a complex sentence with a subordinate clause linked by the conjunction �because �?

Yes it is a complex sentence, the two ideas are linked by subordination using because:On the weekend I just relax is the main clause; because I �m very tired is a subordinate clause giving a reason for the action of relaxing. Compare it with: On the weekend I just relax and read a book. This is a compound sentence. Here there are two clauses joined by and. They are equal. One does not depend on the other. |
