I would like to ask wether we say :
Put the verbs in brackets in the correct form.
or
Put the verbs between brackets in the correct form.

Personally, I prefer to put them in (parentheses) instead of [brackets]. Between isn �t wrong per se, but we don �t say it that way in American English, at least. Other dialects may vary. |

miyoko71 makes an interesting point. If the verbs are already in the position, it isn �t uncommon to say "between" (in the US), but for instructions on how to write it, we would much more often say "in brackets". Change the verbs (that are) between (or in) brackets (or parentheses) to the simple future. Underline the pronouns and put the verbs in brackets (or parentheses). Bruce |
