							| Hi everyone!
What is the difference between English for specific purposes and English for special purposes?

 Thanks in advance!

							| It would be very helpful to know some context for your question. There is a big difference in meaning between "specific" and "special", but the two phrases you give are not really clear as to what they would mean.   If I need English for selling my company s product in an English-speaking country, then that woud be using English for a specific purpose. I really don t know what would be meant by "English for special purposes". What brought on the question?   Bruce | 4 Nov 2012
