							| Hi everyone>> I told my students yesterday that the negative form of has-have is doesn t have-don t have-hasn t got-haven t got and that they can never answer a question using hasn t or haven t>>In other words..they can t write:
 I haven t a doll
 It s either: I don t have a doll or I haven t got a doll
However, one of them today brought a printed page from the Internet that says that you can say "I haven t a doll"..which was very weird for me cuz i m not a familiar with it like that.
Is "I haven t a doll" correct English? Maybe it s just correct in informal spoken language? I m not sure..please help me

							| The form is correct but becoming rapidly obsolete. The Queen may still use it though.
Also, there are some expressions that use this form.
I haven t a clue. I haven t the faintest. (faintest idea what s happening)
Its definitely not informal. Nowadays Id say it is rather stiff and formal. | 5 Dec 2012
