Hi guys, I need your help with this point. We are teaching " i like + Ving" but in the listening part , they said " I �d like" ex: What would you like to do in the forest?"- " I �d like to draw a leaf". so in this case what is the " would like" really meant? And the answer for " Would you like to draw a leaf in the forest?" is - YES,I �d like OR Yes, I �d love to/ Yes, please - No, I wouldn �t OR No, thanks Thank you guys very much Best regards, |

Hello!
Would like is apolite way to say "I want to"and the possible answers are
Yes, I �d like to No, I wouldn �t like to.
I�d love to is also possible and it emphasis that I really want to do something.

Hi,
There �s a difference in meaning: - "like + Ving" is used in the sense of "enjoy" , e.g. I like drawing leaves. = I enjoy drawing them. - "would like + to-infinitive" is used in the sense of "want", e.g. I �d like to draw a leaf. = I want to draw a leaf. Hope this helped. Have a nice day! |
