I think we usually say �rub � or �pour � rather than �jab, � but you can find a definition here.

I guess it �s a variation of the idiom

rub salt into the wound

|

rub salt into somebody �s wounds

to make a difficult experience even more difficult for somebody

they are right. you know when you cut yourself while cooking and then you touch accidently some salt...ouch that burns!
