							| Turn this sentence into passive voice:
Trung s parents gave him a book on his birthday
--> Trung was given a book ON HIS BIRTHDAY by his parents

OR Trung was given a book BY HIS PARENTS on his birthday

In my opinion, the first sentence is correct.
Can you help me to solve this problem. Thanks

							| A double passive is possible here. You have : "on his birthday Trung was given a book by his parents."   AND   "on his birthday a book was given to Trung by his parents."   according to the most important element : is it Trung ? Sentence 1.   Is it the book ? Sentence 2. | 14 Apr 2013

							| Yes, you are right. When you choose "Trung" as the subject, it is the element you want to enphasize and when you choose "a book", that is the important element. People are preferred to things in this kind of passive sentences. Hope it helps
