							| Passive order
 |
							| Hi friends, I need your help. What s first, the agent or the adverb of time in a passive sentence??
For example: The car was washed by Mike, yesterday    (1) 		      The car was washed yesterday by Mike.   (2) 		       Yesterday, the car was washed by Mike.  (3)
Are the three options grammatically correct?? Thanks in advance!!! :)

							| As far as I know, adverbs of time either proceed the sentence or they come after the verb+object-phrase. By Mike is an object and you should not devide that part from the verb. Thus, I d say number 1 and number 3 is correct.

							| All three are grammatically correct, but the second one doesn t sound very fluid.   Bruce | 22 Apr 2013

							| Hi,the time expressions we could use either in the beginning or in the end, thus the 1st and the 3 rd are correct. | 22 Apr 2013

							| Hi, Joass . I agree with most of them, in my opinion the first and third are correct . The second one sounds a little weird.

							| I d use either #1 without the comma before "yesterday" or #3 - if I wanted to emphasize when it happened.
 Hope it helps.
Have a nice day / evening!
