							| A doubt ;-) about revise
 |
							| Hello dear friends. Ive noticed in various places on the forum but most noticeably in worksheet descriptions where the word revise is used synonymously with review. Are they synonymous? I always thought that revise meant to check and change as needed. Am I wrong? Ed | 26 Apr 2013

							| Oh, Ed, you re so American! In the UK, they say revise/revision where we say review. If you think about the origins of the words, they are the same, so theirs makes just as much sense as ours, and our use of "revise" doesn t match the word s history.   Bruce | 26 Apr 2013

							| I never knew that.   I thought we all (as in SAE and SBE speakers) used revise in the same sense.  I learn something new every day.   Cheers   Jayho  | 26 Apr 2013

							| @Lynne...Which ugly bloke?? I ve had three avatars: my dad, my grandson and me. You ve managed to insult three generations. Ed | 27 Apr 2013

							| Hi Ed, your dad and your grandson are exceptionally handsome blokes.
(I looked for the tongue in cheek emoticon, but couldn t find it.)
