Hi, dear colleagues!
I need your advice, please! Passive Voice.
Word order. Which of them is correct?
1.Her new medicine was given to her by him. Her new medicine was given by him to her.
2.This funny animal was laughed at by everybody. This funny animal was laughed by everybody at.
3.We have been looking for her the whole morning. (Active) What is about Passive?

I think the "by" part sounds better at the end.
She has been looked for the whole morning.
( verb to be is not used in the present perfect progressive form )

This comes across, unfortunately, as classic effle. Nobody actually says (or would even want to say) "Her new medicine was given to her by him ". You�re more likely to turn your students off English for life with this type of exercise.

ACTIVE / PASSIVE
Examples:
- Recently, John has been doing the work.
- Recently, the work has been being done by John.
NOTE: Present Perfect Continuous is less commonly used in its passive form. |

The best I can do for No. 3 is: Our whole morning has been spent in looking for her.

Some sentences just don �t work with a passive form - they just sound weird and wouldn �t be used by a native speaker.
How about these.
The doctor gave her the new medicine.
The new medicine was given to her by the doctor.
Everybody laughed at the funny animal.
The funny animal was laughed at by everybody.
The police have been looking for her the whole morning.
She has been looked for by the police the whole morning.
