							| Hi folks,
 I have a question concerning the meaning or the difference in meaning of these two;
 - in the beginning/end of the month
 - by the beginning/end of the month
 If the first one refers to the first part of something, then what does "by" refer to?
 Thank you in advance,

							| Hi, as far as I know, "in the end of the month" isnt right . It should be "at the end of a month, year ... "
At the beginning /end of something
In the end means "finally".

							| Flori is right. It should be "at the beginning/end...", and talks about when something happened or will happen.   I am going to move at the end of the month.   "By" is used for deadlines, or for when something will have happened.   I will give you that report by the end of the month. (This means that it could happen sooner, but won t happen any later than the end of the month) You must pay your rent by the fifth of each month. (on or before the fifth).   Bruce | 9 May 2013
