							| Homonym? Homophone?
 |
							| Hi there,   I have to teach on this subject this week.  I know what a homophone is but what is a homonym?  The book I m using seems to suggest that it represents words that have the same pronunciation and spelling but different meanings (rock music, rock of Gilbralter).  But the sites I look at seem to suggest that a homonym is just like a homophone (same pronunciation, different spelling, different meaning for example  I ll, aisle, isle)   I m confused.   Thanks, Esther | 9 Jun 2013
