							| 1. Read a letter to the students with a "problem" in it. e.g. Not enough money to go to university
 2. Get the students to brainstorm possible solutions e.g. get a part-time job

 3. Introduce phrases such as "Why dont you...? How about...? You should..." etc.

 4. Clarify the strength of the suggestion structures with them.

 5. Get them in groups/pairs/individually to write a response.

 6. Read them to the class, correct mistakes, discuss which feel the best if you were to receive the letter of advice.

Sorry for the short response, my kids class will arrive any minute now!!

Hope this gives you a basic outline of what you could do...

Im sure others will have better suggestions

							| "Successful Writing" by Virginia Evans is a great series to teach writing. Search for this title here: engilishtips.org | 30 Jan 2009

							| Check my worksheet on the subject: A problem shared. Its based on "Successful writing" by Virginia Evans.
If you have problems finding it, just send me an email.
 Hope it was useful!
