							| Hi Sophie, as far as I understood the dates are not the same... If I m not mistaken, Canadian on 14.10 and American on 31-10. Probably someone from (or working in) the US or Canada can tell you more... | 12 Oct 2013

							| Definitely not the same in time. I don t know much about Canadian Thanksgiving, but US Thanksgiving is always the fourth Thursday in November, November 28 this year. (October 31 is Halloween, and coincidentally, the first anniversary of my father s death. I used to love Halloween.) | 12 Oct 2013

							| Canadian Thanksgiving is always the second Monday in October. The celebrations are mostly the same - family gathering with a big dinner usually consisting of turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie for dessert! | 12 Oct 2013

							| Thanks, Doot, what about the origin? does your Thanksgiving also refer to the story of the pilgrims? Sophia
