							| Yes, Makigi, I can imagine that it sounds a little strange, but it is correct. You can also say "A make-up artist applies make-up", but that doesn �t really express the entire idea. That is a more functional statement that doesn �t cover the whole job, because the artist also creates the "design" of the make-up.   Bruce |  5 Nov 2013
