Thnx Bruce, it sounded right to me too but what about: A make-up artist does make-up? I can �t explain, but it doesn �t sound right to me.

Yes, Makigi, I can imagine that it sounds a little strange, but it is correct. You can also say "A make-up artist applies make-up", but that doesn �t really express the entire idea. That is a more functional statement that doesn �t cover the whole job, because the artist also creates the "design" of the make-up. Bruce |
