							| KNOW ENGLISH
 |
							| Hello everyone. One of my students has written in a composition the following sentence: "Everybody should know English nowadays because....."
It doesn t sound good to me but perhaps I am wrong. I would say: Everybody should learn to speak English" or something like that but I am not sure now. Can you help me, please?

							| It s fine - it is rather informal and your suggestion is more formal or academic Everyone should know how to cook  = Everyone should learn how to cook   You can see the below definition in context  here  skill/language 9 [transitive] to have learned a skill or language and be able to use it- know something Do you know any Japanese?   Cheers   Jayho | 11 Dec 2013
