							| MUSTNīT in Reported Speech
 |
							| I īve got a doubt when a prohibition is reported.

"you mustnīt turn that TV on " The teacher said to us.

Does it change or not?   Is it possible to say :

The teacher told us we werenīt allowed to  / couldnīt / mustnīt  turn the TV on

							| You may use a different reporting verb: The teacher "forbade" us tu turn on that TV.
If you still want to keep tell, it could be: The teacher told us NOT TO turn on that TV.
I hope it helps! Regards, Mike | 31 Jan 2014
