							| Easy peasy, Roxette. Find the child within and be like it (again). Loads of WSs and PPTs on this site. (Get a Smartboard"!). Find out what their pace is, and adjust accordingly with a variation of activities and circle time.
Circle time (I don t know if you taught primary) is calm-time. Depending on the time you have them, build i.e. a wall-story. Worked for me and the aboriginal kids (but had them two hours per day). As humiliation is a bad teacher, for young and old, make sure all is fun and that they admire themselves for speaking English. My kids were bullies through humiliation. Shame, they called it. One of my biggest challenges with these littlie ones, was to have them speak. My kids copied me outside school, what annoyed me briefly, but became fun (Dutch accent). My example, I like to think, stopped them from humiliating each other or don t want to say a thing. Sadly the truth was that they bullied more than ever, and at any other school I ve worked. A way of life, you might say. So I copied their pigeon English, gave other accents, and laughed about it. In short, small people can be challenged, too. Next, know a variety of games, to get their energy used up. Or to get them going (after a nap). Hope this helps. Otherwise, just go for it! Cheers, Peter. | 9 Feb 2014
