							| Both are used.  As a native British speaker, I would say:
I used to play a lot of sport when I was younger. (mass noun)

There is a good sports centre just down the road.
My son won the 200 metres in the school sports. (people compete in various activities)
 Hope that helps.

							| Further to Janet s answer, baseball is a kind of sport, (just as meat is a kind of food). I am good at sport. Tennis and netball are my favourite sports.
Sport is used to mean all sports in general.

							| As an American, I would say "I am [not] good at sports." It s just a different usage on this side of the pond. So in that context, you could use either "sports" or "sport" and be correct. I would also say "I didn t play a lot of sports when I was younger (and I still don t!)"   I do say "Baseball is a kind of sport," however. | 30 Mar 2014
