							| dear teachers, i came across with a line in a story book. can anybody help with the meaning?
 the boy has a slingshot and shoots at a bird and the you see this line:
 
 "The bird looked much smaller dead man it had alive."

							| It�s a typing error.   It should read: "The bird looked much smaller dead than it had alive."

							| Perhaps it meant that the bird was a menacing and threatening type of bird  (eagle, crow) that scared him but in real life when it died the writer thought it too can be vulnerable to death so smaller might mean stripped of its influence on the him.  It was just a bird. 
 Or maybe it meant that on a physical level, when a bird is flying its wings are outstretched and it does look larger than when it isn �t flying. |  15 Jun 2014

							| I agree that it �s an error. I suppose it �s meant to say "The bird looked much smaller dead than it had alive". If that �s the case, it refers to the fact that alive it seemed bigger (and probably scarier) that it actually was. |  15 Jun 2014
