							| Aspirated "p"
 |
							| Hi everyone! I have a question, hope you can help me.
Is the "p" in the abbreviation PE (physical education) pronounced aspiratedly? I ve read somewhere that all words starting with "p" are uttered with aspiration but I m not sure about the PE abbreviation.
 Thanks | 12 Nov 2014

							| Yes, P is aspirated in P.E.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspirated_consonant describes a test to tell if a sound is aspirated. When you hold your hand in front of your mouth, you will feel an air puff when the consonant is aspirated. | 12 Nov 2014
