							| REAL MAPS IN 5th grade students
 |
							| Hello Everybody!   I am working the NYC with my 5th grade students in ESL. I would like to work the directions with them through a real map. Do you think that it would be difficult for them? Any ideas of how to work it?     Thanks!!!  | 18 Nov 2014

							| Absolutely not!  Most of Manhattan is easy to navigate.  The streets are numbered beginning at 4th street going up to the hundreds.  They run east to west.  The avenues run north to south and basically go First Avenue,Second Avenue, etc. with a few exceptions like Lexington and Madison.  Broadway is another exception that goes diagonally.  Other than that it s as easy as pie  Go for it. | 18 Nov 2014
