							|  In your phrase "take an effort", the "take" is a substitution for "require" ie "It will require (take) an effort".   "Make an effort" basically means "try harder" or invest smoe time/energy in an endeavour, as in "I will have to make an effort to finish my work on time.   Both phrases are correct in context but not directly interchangeable. |  24 Jan 2015
