							| Teaching instructions to adults
 |
							| Hi everyone   Well, its a new academic year for me and I am teaching a new module to my intermediate adults: Spoken and written instructions for work and study (e.g. how to use a photocopier, following emergency evacuation procedures, etc)   Im looking for online resources specifically related to the language of instructions (rather than just general grammar): specifically imperatives; conditionals; negation; modality; and, markers of time, manner & place.   I cant find much on the web at all. Ive searched under instructions, commands and directives.   If you have any good links, please let me know.   Cheers   Jayho | 6 Feb 2015

							|   After reading these unrelated instructions for developing and printing photographs as a model, maybe your students could write their own instructions for using the photocopier.

							| Hi Mary   Thanks for your prompt reply.   Your uefap link is exactly the type of resource I am looking for - it specifically teaches students the language of how to understand/give instructions.  I must cover the specific grammar points listed in my post as related to instructions. If you have any more links like the uefap one, then youll really make my day.   I have a text book but I need free online resources to link to my elearning platform for student practice/information. We have student WiFi now so I have them using Moodle on their Smartphones - Im really chuffed about this as it makes my job easier and their learning more technologically enabled.   Cheers   Jayho   Edit: WoW Mary! Youve made my day, big time!!!!. Youve found some fantabulous stuff. The podcast is excellent (but Sandy asking the IT guy on a date   ) and I really like some of whats on the Pearson WS. | 6 Feb 2015
