							| Dear Chinese Friends
 |
							| Could you tell me the meaning of the following (supposedly) Chinese words? Thanks in advance:   "So now the only Chinese words she can say are sh-sh, houche, chr fan, and gwan deng shweijyau. How can she talk to people in China with these words? Pee-pee, choo-choo train, eat, close light sleep. How can she think she can blend in? Only her skin and her hair are Chinese."  | 28 Feb 2015

							| I know that "sh sh" means "thanks" and "ch fan" means "eat." I don t know about the last although the last word could mean "water" (shwei). I don t know if that s any help. | 28 Feb 2015

							|    Sh-sh - you probably meant "Xiexie" - Thank you   Houche - i think you mispelled, should be "Huoche" - Train   Chr fan - again you mistyped, should be "Chi fan" - To eat a meal   Gwan deng - "Guan deng" - Turn off the light   Shweijau - "Shui jiao" - To sleep    :0) | 28 Feb 2015

							| blunek, thanks a lot for the exhaustive answer - I am not to blame for the the "spelling errors" , though - it was an extract from a novel by a Chinese-American author, which is included in a textbook. Thanks again. | 1 Mar 2015
