8A is obviously the answer the test writer is looking for but to say D is ungrammatical is simply wrong. I live in the world of a living, fluid language and use of does / do for emphasis is very much part of that experience. Abby: Has Finnoola phoned yet with the monthly sales figures? jmcthefirst, We aren �t saying that using "does" for emphasis is wrong. It just isn �t correct in this sentence. You �ll see that your example sentence is different from the original, mainly because of "as soon as". Bruce |
