							| Hi Miss Noor,I dont think the original question is correct. It should be:
Have they played in many countries? (Present Perfect expressing experience) Yes, they have. They have played in many countries.   As to the second question, "Have something done" is called Causative have Its used when you don t do things yourself, but have someone do them for you: Ill have my house painted. (other people, maybe painters, will paint it, not you. Compare  to Ill paint my house)  Ive had the plumbing repaired= The plumber (my husband, or someone else) has repaired it. Ive had a haircut = I have had my hair cut= The hairdresser has cut it. Its used in different tenses, not only in the present perfect.   Hope it helps.   Marcia | 22 Feb 2009

							| Hi noor, the first question is in the passive form: Certain games are played in different countries. The 2nd example is in the causative form. It shows that we have someone do sth. I had my brother wash my car. ( active causative) I had my car washed. ( passive causative)  In these examples, it s not me who wash the car, but asking someone to wash it for me. I hope it s clear!! Hugs, Nebal | 22 Feb 2009

							| Sorry, Miss Noor.   Nebal is absolutely right. The first example is the passive voice of the simple present! They play games in many countries. (active voice) Games (or they) are played in many countries.   Therefore, Are they played in many countries? could have both answers: Yes, they are. They are played in many countries. or Yes, they are played in many countries. or even: Yes, they are.(which sounds more natural for me)   Sorry again! I dont think I had woken up completely!!! Too much carnival on my head! hehehe   Marcia | 22 Feb 2009

							| Hi miss noor regarding your question about have and get something done....( If that is what you mean )...   It is very easy ... Tell your pupils they are going to arrange a birthday party for  their friend . Ask them to give you suggestions about what  they are going to bring or do by themselves and what  the things they are going to let others do for them.Give them examples to motivate them like are they going to  clean the whole house, by themselves ,arrane the  flowers  or make a big cake  ........   So bring some pictures of  a cleaning lady ( a maid), a baker , florist , a printer shop ( for  invitations) .....etc   and ask them to form sentences ....   In the begining they will will not grasp the rule ,but after they make mistakes .Explain that if you want to get or have something done for you...like cleaning,  making a cake ,cutting  hair , making dresses.......etc   They should use :   get/have  + object + past participle   we will get the camera fixed. I will get the cake made           I hope I answered your question and I m more than  happy to answer any other question you have .     Shosho               | 22 Feb 2009
