Dear colleagues,

I am not so familiar with American English . That is why I need to ask you for help.

Some of my students say: It was very fun.

Is it correct ?

I�d rather say �: It was great fun. or It was much fun.

or We had fun.. etc...

Yes, "very fun" has become standard usage in the US. It still annoys some people, but that group is dwindling.
