							| "No one" for animals?
 |
							| That s the doubt. Can we use "no one" to refer to animals or just to people?
 Thanks in advance!

							| If you are intentionally anthropomorphizing the animals, you can, but it is very uncommon to use "no one" for animals.   Bruce  | 16 Jan 2016

							| I agree with Bruce. If you are looking over your wall in the morning, hoping to spot the wildlife - a few deer or a fox, you are disappointed if nothing is there (not no-one or nobody). However, if you have three lovely cats and you go to the window hoping to spot them, you would be disappointed if none of them was there. In that situation, you might comment using no-one but mmm, only to your husband. | 17 Jan 2016
