							| Yes, you can. It �s quite polite. In a restaurant - yes, all the time.  �Can I have the scampi provencale and chips please? � In clothes/shoe shops/dept stores, you are more likely - if you get to speak to anyone! - to be asking to try things on.  �Can I try this in size__? �  �Can I have this in red/size 6...etc.. � also, fine. In newsagents, tobacconists, pharmacists,etc...  where you do speak to the assistant,  �Can I have a packet of aspirin,,,etc? � that is correct. |  25 Jan 2016
